I love bread! What would be a good fiber packed bread? Is it true that gluten is the problem? The fad is sourdough. Any truth to that? I believe in balance and that’s what I try to do. I would like to know when the best time in the day to eat your good carbs, good fats, grains and protein. I don’t believe in fad diets. I just want the truth about food it seems impossible to eat healthy foods unless you grow them or raise the animals yourself. Totally frustrated! Sorry for the ramble…..

Great information! Thanks for your dedication! Is there any recommendations for diet and bone density health? I have been reading a lot about this but not 💯 sure what to trust.

I am so glad you are talking about what matters.

Obesity (due to our diet) is a huge issue across the west and it is often completely preventable.

Great article Dr. Flora, very informative.

Do you use Modified Citrus Pectin in your practice?

I’m familiar with modified citrus pectin and its active target, galectin-3. It’s a very promising idea, and early studies suggested some activity, but the level of benefit wasn’t strong enough to make it into routine clinical practice. That said, several clinical trials are ongoing, testing more potent galectin-3 inhibitors in various conditions, including cancer. These compounds are being studied in combination with other therapies, which may provide a more meaningful clinical impact. It will be interesting to see if these next-generation inhibitors show real benefit in larger trials.

Thanks Jason. Nutrition is complex and I sometimes struggle to stay on course but always trying to make progress. I try to tell patients it adds up with time and persistence.

Great post! In the 10 months since I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I’ve lost almost 30 lbs due to nausea and loss of appetite. Nutrition is a major concern for me, and I’m always looking for ways to manage this.
